New approach to lifeboat launching
Norway's Noreq AS has introduced what is says is a safer, more user-friendly concept for launching life- and rescue boats.
In the Noreq line of compact davits, electrical and hydraulic systems and components are totally enclosed in the davit structure for optimal protection against wear and tear. The davit design and construction provide advantages for maintenance and service, installation and deck preparations.
Noreq says the concept also solves problems related to the effects on operation of heating or arctic climates
Launching of the life-/rescue boat is performed either from inside the boat or from remote control unit (supplied as standard). Operation of the life-/rescue boat is performed by a electric-/hydraulic driven system. The Noreq Compact davit system is designed in accordance with latest IMO/SOLAS requirements, LSA Code and European Council Directive96/98 on Marine Equipment (MED).
The new Noreq compact davits are available in several models and sizes for ship and rigs, with capacities for boats up to 23,000 kg.
