ABG Shipyard to install India's largest Syncrolift

ABG Shipyard Ltd., India's largest private shipbuilding company, is to install a Rolls-Royce Syncrolift shiplift at its Dahej shipyard, reports the Times of India. The 270 m long by 47 m shiplift, with a 30,000 t lift capacity, will be the largest in India.

It will take about a year for the company to start producing ships using the facility.

ABG has decided to invest Rs 260 crore (about US$ 52 million) to acquire the Syncrolift.
