Corps to issue towboat IFB
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Marine Design Center is to initiate an Invitation for Bid (IFB) procurement to obtain one inland river, all welded steel towboat for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District.
The towboat will be twin-screw, with two main engines delivering approximately 3,350 HP total. Vessel dimensions will be approximately 144 foot x 40 foot x 11 foot. Primary mission of the towboat will be year-round support of revetment operations on the Mississippi, Atchafalaya and Red Rivers, the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW), and channel patrol on the Mississippi River. The vessel will also operate as the Vicksburg Harbor fireboat during part of the year.
The vessel is to be classed ABS Maltese Cross A-1 Towing Vessel, River Service with Maltese Cross AMS. Invitation For Bid Number (IFB) W912BU-04-B-0017 will be available on the Internet on or about April 1 2004 at the following address https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil. Bids will be due on or about May 4, 2004.
