LMSR contract for 3PSC
3PSC, LLC, Cape Canaveral, Fla., is being awarded a $5,194,320 firm-fixed price contract with reimbursables for the operation and maintenance of two large, medium-speed, roll-on/roll-off ships (LMSRs). The LMSRs--USNS Gordon and USNS Gilliland--will move cargo primarily in support of deployed U.S. military forces worldwide. This contract contains four one-year options, which if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $27,246,893.
The ships will be primarily maintained at U.S. East Coast and Gulf ports in reduced operating status, but must be deployable worldwide. Work performance under this contract is expected to be completed by September 2009. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with more than 50 proposals solicited and seven offers received. The U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting authority (N00033-05-C-5305).
