NTSB delays release of S.I. ferry docket
The National Transportation Safety Board yesterday delayed its release of information about last year's Staten Island ferry crash, saying criminal prosecutors need more time to review the information.
Originally, the NTSB had said that, "as part of its continuing investigation of the accident" it would open a public docket and release a series of factual reports on Monday, October 18, 2004, at 11:00 am.
The information that was to have been released was described as factual in nature and as not providing any analysis. It was to include investigative group factual reports, photos, interview transcripts, and other documents from the investigation, with additional material being added to the docket as it becomes available. Analysis of the accident, along with conclusions and a determination of probable cause, will come at a later date when the final report on the investigation is completed
