Rigdon names CFO

Larry Rigdon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rigdon Marine announced today the appointment of James (Jay) A. Harkness as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Harkness is responsible for the financial management of the company, including fiscal controls, insurance placement and claims management and financial reporting.
“Jay is a very capable individual with an astute background in all financial procedures of a vessel operating company,” said Rigdon. “He is a take charge person, capable of providing critical data and important statistics, which are essential in the analysis of business forecasts and investments in our capital asset inventory. We are fortunate to have him on the executive management team.”
Harkness has been involved in the marine services industry for over fourteen years, and spent the last seven, prior to joining Rigdon Marine, as the Financial Controller for Europe and Africa for a major offshore energy support company. He has also held financial management positions for that company in Egypt, Angola, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and the North Sea.

Harkness earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Washburn University, and his Masters of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University.
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, with  operations in New Orleans, Louisiana, Rigdon Marine is a U.S. flagged vessel operator and provider of high capacity platform supply vessels for the Gulf of Mexico.
