ISPS compliance starts to pick up
On Wednesday, the U.S. Coast Guard's Vice Admiral Larry Hereth was talking about shipowners "exponentially" getting into compliance with the ISPS/MTSA security regulations that will be enforced from July 1, 2004.
Today, further international numbers have been released by IMO, based on responses from governments and non-government organizations with consultative status at IMO
IMO Secretary General Efthimios E. Mitropoulos says the numbers show a wlecome improvement over those released by IMO on May 17. However, he says "there is still work to be done."
