July 22, 2004 Paris MOU eports on ISPS enforcement During the first two weeks of the new international maritime security regime, member countries of the Paris MOU undertook 739 ship inspections. These resulted in 53 detentions , of which 24 (45 percent) were security related--missing certificates. Ten of the detentions were for only one day, with the certificate problem being rapidly resolved. |
