Double float out at Kvaerner Warnow Werft
Germany's Kvaerner Warnow Werft (KWW) last Friday floated two vessels from its building dock simultaneously. The two were another in the yard's successful series of its own WARNOW CV 2500 containership and a pre-outfitted yacht hotel.
The container vessel (yard number 028) is the fifth of six vessels ordered by German shipowner Oskar Wehr KG (GmbH & Co.) of Hamburg, and is due for delivery in September 2002. The vessel is 208.3 m long and 29.8 m wide. It has a deadweight of about 33,600 t and a total container stowage capacity of 2,524 TEU with 481 reefer sockets. In design draught of 10.1 m the vessel has a speed of 21.7 kn.
The second unit floated out last week was the pre-outfitted Yacht Hotel hull (yard number 404) for SUNBORN International as per Kuntoutusyhtymä in Turku / Finland, is 119 m long and 18.4 m wide. It is due for delivery end of July 2002.
