Regal Empress sels for $1.75 million
According to local press reports, the 50 year old cruise liner Regal Empress fetched $1.75 million at a bankruptcy auction in Tampa, last Friday.

Imperial Majesty Cruise Line put in the winning bid. There were no bidders at an previous auction when the minimum bid was $2 million. There was no minimum this time.

The vessel was being sold to pay creditors, including several South Florida companies.

Imperial Majesty, which purchased the Empress under the name Celebration World Cruises, now operates the Ocean Breeze on two night trips to Nassau from Fort Lauderdale It will reportedly operate the Regal Empress on a similar schedule.
