May 1, 2003 Northrop Grumman gets CHSV contract Work will be performed in Pascagoula, Miss., and is expected to be completed by October 2004. Contract funds will not expire by the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured under an Office of Naval Research Broad Agency Announcement. The Office of Naval Research, Ship Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (H,M&E) Systems Science & Technology (S&T) Division is currently investigating H,M&E technologies to support the development of high speed littoral vessels. A part of this overall effort is the Composite High Speed Vessel (CHSV) Program. This is a shipyard oriented task to explore and develop the technology for lightweight, high-speed vessels capable of operating in the littoral environment.
