Rigdon Marine names VP Admin

New Orleans based Rigdon Marine has announced the appointment of Michael Babin as Vice President of Administration, Worldwide. Babin will be responsible for managing the day-to-day internal processes of the company, with expertise in domestic and international human resources, health, safety and environmental issues, risk management and quality processes.

"It's a master stroke for us to have Mike Babin join our progressive team," said Larry Rigdon, president and chief executive of Rigdon Marine. "His extraordinary record for successfully implementing leading-edge policies and procedures perfectly complements the forward-looking technological positioning of Rigdon Marine."

Director of Operations, Richard Currence, Jr. added, "Mike Babin brings the level of health, safety and environmental expertise that this industry is presently demanding, and will demand even more so in the future. He has 15 years' experience in disciplines that are critical to our company's mission to be the standard-setter for the marine service industry."

Babin previously served as president of The Solutions Group and corporate vice president for Torch Offshore. His prior experience includes executive responsibilities at Chevron and Dickson GMP International.

He has been an instructor at Tulane University, LSU Medical Center and Loyola University. He is a member of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, and has served on the board of West Jefferson Medical Center.

Rigdon Marine's first vessel is scheduled for deloivery early next year.
