MARAD appointment for Roberson
The U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) has named a new Associate Administrator: Eileen Roberson, whose most recent post was Director of Enterprise solutions in the Program Executive Office for Information Technology in the Department of the Navy. She will be Associate Administrator for Administration, a post which oversees the agency's information technology operations as well as personnel, accounting, budget, and acquisitions.

Roberson, a native of the District of Columbia is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. She began her tour in the Merchant Marine while maintaining an active reserve service status in the United States Naval Reserve. She was selected into the NAVSEA Commander's Development Program in 1988; she was recalled to active duty during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm as a Logistics Advisory to the Chief of Naval Operations. Roberson has served in the program offices for support ships and for aircraft carriers, and was selected for the Senior Executive Service in 1996. She holds a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems.

Maritime Administrator Captain William Schubert said, "We are delighted to have Eileen Roberson's combination of experience in this AA post; her extensive maritime and Navy experience, plus her capabilities in information management, combined with her qualifications in personnel management, make her an ideal addition to the upper echelons of the Maritime Administration.
