April 11, 2003 Promotions at NASSCO National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO), a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), today announced the promotion of Janice Grace to the new position of Vice President, Pre-Production Operations.  Grace will assume responsibility for engineering in addition to her current responsibilities in materials, master planning/facilities, and information systems. Stephen Streifer, VP of Engineering, has announced his retirement. Stephen Stroebel has been promoted to the Director of Materials, reporting to Grace. NASSCO (www.nassco.com), is currently building two roll-on/roll-off trailerships for Totem Ocean Trailer Express and four double-hull tankers for BP Shipping Company of Alaska.  In October 2001, NASSCO was awarded a contract for the design and construction of a fleet of T-AKE dry cargo/ammunition ships for the Navy.  Three ships of the 12-ship program are presently under contract.
