INCAT INNOVATOR ROBERT CLIFFORD TO KEYNOTE FERRIES 2004, DELRAY BEACH, FLA, NOV. 8-10
Fast ferry pioneer Robert F. Clifford, the colorful chairman and founder of Incat Australia Pty Ltd. will keynote Marine Logs FERRIES 2004 conference and trade show when it opens at the Delray Beach Marriott in Delray Beach, Fla.
Over the years, high-speed ferries designed and built by Incat Australia have been internationally recognized for their innovative technical and operational achievements.
Three Incat vessels, for example, have won the prestigeous Hales Trophy and Blue Riband for the fastest transatlantic crossing for a commercial passenger vessel.
Incat has also made inroads into the defense sector. Its 96-meter wavepiercer Joint Venture HSV-X1 and 98-meter Spearhead TSV-1X ACTD were both used by the U.S. Army in the Middle East and Iraq and a third Incat-built vessel, the HSV 2 Swift, is in use by the U.S. Navy.
Now in its 17th year, Marine Logs FERRIES conference and trade show will kick-off with a pre-conference cocktail reception and awards ceremony open to all attendees in the exhibition hall on Nov. 8th.
At the awards ceremony, Marine Log will honor Lake Express LLC, Milwaukee, Wis., and the Alaska Marine Highway System, Juneau, Alaska, for their achievement in initiating high-speed vehicle ferry services this year.
Separate pre-conference events include a New Operators Seminar and a free tour of Maritime Professional Trainings S.M.A.R.T. Simulation Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Another critical element of the FERRIES event is its trade show. Thats where youll get a firsthand look at the latest technology and services for the ferry industry.
Heres a sneak peek at some of what youll see on display.
